12th Annual White Squirrel Day – February 2, 2026

Join us for 2026 White Squirrel Day, in Brevard NC

White Squirrel Day, one of Brevard’s most beloved community traditions, returns on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held in a new location this year at the White Squirrel Shoppe in Downtown Brevard. The event is presented by the White Squirrel Institute with support from the Transylvania County Tourism Development Authority (Explore Brevard) and  WSQL Radio. This celebration brings locals and visitors together to honor our famous white squirrels. It also helps to support wildlife conservation, and share a little seasonal whimsy during the cold winter time. Join us for 2026 White Squirrel Day in Brevard NC.

White Squirrel Day is a fun, quirky event that also serves, as the main fundraiser for The White Squirrel Institute, a local nonprofit organization. The Institute provides financial assistance to licensed wildlife rehabilitators. Rehabbers work to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured white squirrels and area wildlife back into the wild. Funds are raised through personal donations and the “Adopt a White Squirrel” program.

Event highlights include:

• Pisgah Piper making her weather prediction and picking the 2026 Super Bowl winner
• Squirrely cake and signature white squirrel beverages
• Don DeBiase of White Squirrel Radio serving as Master of Ceremonies
• Mayor Maureen Copelof will read a proclamation officially memorializing the day as “White Squirrel Day”in Brevard
• A casual community gathering that’s fun for all ages
• This year, Pisgah Piper continues her role as Brevard’s official white squirrel ambassador. She will make her predictions on a early spring or late winter, and the winner of the 2026 Superbowl.

Broadcast live on Brevard’s WSQL radio station

The White Squirrel Day celebration will be broadcast live on Brevard’s WSQL radio station (102.1 FM, 1240 AM) and livestreamed on WSQL’s Facebook page.  Fans can tune in near and far and join in the festivities and hear Piper’s predictions.
